Wedding shirts - formal styles
Modern men's wedding shirts generally adhere to the same designs. As cravats are often worn, a wing collar, with deeper wings than would be found with on a dinner shirt, are the norm. Most modern wedding shirts now have concealed buttons (a fly front), which until recently would have been confined to evening, rather than morning wear.
For such a formal occasion, double cuffs are the most popular option in shirts for weddings. A good quality white cotton is considered to be the most suitable fabric, although a light cream is also popular.
As weddings are particularly formal occasions, a bespoke tailor-made shirt is essential to ensure that perfect look. With so much to go right (and so much that can potentially go wrong) during a wedding, the wearer can rest assured in the knowledge that their wedding shirt will leave them smart, yet comfortable throughout the occasion.
Curtis & Dyer offers a range of options for wedding shirts, including our Groom collar, designed to be worn with a cravat, and a variety of suitable high quality cotton fabrics from which we can make the shirt.
